Funny thing is, I actually don’t bother with sports in real life, but somehow I was on the edge of my seat reading the sports-related scenes in this one. Well that needs additional work, but I’m excited to see them play some more. That’s the point… bringing together a group of misfits that both hate and love each other and train them to become one single family on the field. They are messed up in their own respective ways. And they all have such a huge presence in the story that it’s hard to not notice them or pay them no mind. This story is crazy, as are the majority of the characters. First time I tried reading it two years ago, I gave it a one-star-rating, so it could only go up from there. Going into a book having no expectations whatsoever means that there’s no way you can be crushed with disappointment.
